Here's what's going on im my neck of the world.
My son went to our LGS to buy a couple of boxes of 7.62x39mm for his SKS. The owner told him that he can't sell the 39, or the .223/5.56mm ammo unless you buy a rifle. He does sell the normal hunting type ammo (2 box limit) however. Crazy times.
He went into the big city of Elizabethton, and the LGS there had a 2 box minimum of most ammo including 7.62x39 and .223.
It's real out there. I've got thousands of 7.62 and
223, but right now I'm not shooting it, due to shortages. Heck of a way to live.
We heard out this way that it's the Primers that are the problem. We heard that most if not all primers from CCI and Winchester are made in China. Don't know if it's true or not.

CCI is owned by Vista Outdoor. Winchester ammo is made by Olin. Good luck finding out what the supply chain looks like.

Went to my LGS today and it was anemic looking. Pistol cabinets were about 1/3 full, shotguns looked good, the rimfires were not full nor the center fire rifles. Pistol ammo was non existent, rifle ammo was ok. Reloading was hit and miss.

I called one of the LGS's close to me to see if they had a certain rifle. The lady that answered the phone said," We don't have ANYTHING.

Central Illinois is an ammunition desert.

Frustrating to have two new beauties and having to choose not to use up what limited ammo I have to go to the range....

Nice photography you got there. Pro?

If you'd bought a .41mag you could still get ammo. Not cheap, but it is available. :D

Not pro. Just a smart phone. I have the photo booth set up for my other hobby (O Scale).....

But, before this thread gets hijacked and goes off on tangent,

The good news is that one of my local gun shops finally has some .44 mag in stock.

The bad news is one box per caliber per day.....

Guess it looks I have plans every night this week....😉
