Thanks!

Recommendation on hog round
Re: Recommendation on hog round
You'll get a lot of opinions on that. Around here folks who hunt them with pistol caliber often use either an XTP or a LFN, 210gr - 300gr. Both will do the job on the average 200lb hog provided you do your part. Placement is important with hogs. Study up on hog anatomy.

Re: Recommendation on hog round
Rifle or revolver? Barrel twist rate? Many “heavy for caliber” hard cast rounds either will not stabilize or they won’t even cycle through a lever action.
Henry has finally started putting 1 in 20 twist barrels on the .44 Mag rifles instead of 1 in 38.

Check out the range reports for 44 mag. Maybe JEBar will chime in. He has shot some great groups with his 44 using Nosler Bullets. Im sure one of his loads would hammer a hog without out any trouble. If I remember right he has hammered a few already with his 1 in 38 twist Henry 44.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......
