I do save my brass for just such an eventuality.

I had some reloaded there but have yet to shoot them. You have to have at least 5 boxes to send them. I figured it was worth a try and including freight there and back it was about 20 cents a round cheaper than retail.

I would not be a willing reloader. Hopefully won't come to that. BiMart, now that is a good idea. Have to find my member card

What's wrong with reloading?
I enjoy it as much as I do shooting.
No shortage here as I do load my own.

I was at the KCKS Cabelas store yesterday; haven't been at BPS for quite a while now. Anyway, JEBar's web page has listed 11 choices for .45 Colt. I'd bet there were at least 8 of those manufacturers on the shelf, and the quantities were good. BTW, recall that BPS merged/took over Cabelas. Might have had some impact on their ammo stock. Generally, there seems to be more and more ammo on their shelves.

For my usage, I'd like to shoot more .45 Colt with my Russian. But I only buy, as needed, 1 or 2 fifty-round boxes at a time to keep my expense down. And if a shortage does come about, always can go to my ammo stash and keep on shooting my .22LR Henry SGC. ;)

Nothing if you enjoy it. I've sat through a demo one of my buddies gave me. He encourages me to reload on occasion. Just not something I'm interested in spending time on. I do enjoy reading "the adventures of the reloaders" here.

Thanks for the tip. Nearest Cabalas is a long way from here. Sportsman Warehouse is closer but still some distance. Checking last week their webpage showed a couple brands in stock. When I was there none. Of the out of stock brands on listed on their website, the closest stores that supposedly had any where in Idaho and Montana.

True - reloading is not for everybody.
There is a certain 'mindset' that has to accompany reloading.

The big box guys have no mercy for a load like 45 Colt. Supply and demand rules their world, and they know that 45Colt isn't the commodity that 9mm is.

Don't know how you feel about online vendors, but I've used SGAmmo in the past with great results. Back when I was working over PT7 on the reasons why he should consider reloading, 45Colt was a talking point. Not trying to talk you into that, but the SGAmmo scenario I explored for him was eye-opening.

They sell Armscor 255 gr 45 Colt, not a Cowboy load, for $25.95/box of 50, and they ship by weight.

I went to their site just now and put six boxes of that Armscor in the cart (at the $25.95 price) and shipping came up to $14, or $2.33/box, for a total of $28.28, at your door. No sales tax.

Compares pretty favorably with just about anything at retail, FWIW.
