You can load your own by buying the bullets from Lehigh for about the same cost as 20 factory Underwood rounds..:

Lehigh provides great load data. AA9 really seems to shine. I wonder how it would do out of a 20 inch barrel?

Comments?

I'm slightly interested but not at that price. I just picked up today from the LGS 300 85 gr. .312 Hornady XTP's and 300 .312 Sierra 90 gr JHC Sportsmaster bullets. I think I'm good for a while.

Ballistics by the inch gives a pretty good idea of what you can expect from the 327 out of a rifle barrel. http://ballisticsbytheinch.com/327mag.html

Notice that the 327 does very well in short barrel revolvers. That's the platform it was designed for. Notice, too, that once you hit 10"of barrel length, as in my custom Contender barrel, you're not getting all that much more out of a 20" barrel. Oh, yeah, hot little cartridge in a Contender pistol.

A couple of years ago I bought a box of .357 Magnum 140gr Xtreme Penetrator ammo.

I had planned to use it in my Henry .357 BBS, but never did. I know this cartridge is designed for a revolver as their stats are from test results using a 4" barrel. I now have a Uberti Police .357 Magnum S/A revolver with a 5.5" barrel. I think this would be a good ammo in this revolver for short-range white-tail deer hunting.

Just re-read some of the reviews of the .357 magnum on the Lehigh web site. There are a couple of really satisfied rifle users, and in fact, one gent was very pleased with the Xtreme Penetrator our of his Henry .357. Sorry, John. Can't answer to your Q about using the .327 Federal out of a 20" rifle barrel. I would probably use my .357 magnums out of a Henry rifle however.

Quite unusual and interesting bullet designs, aren't they? Best "test" results would be to harvest a white tail deer and see.

Their ad says PWC close to that of a 5.56 rifle.
That claim I find hard to believe.
I love the .327 round. So much that I have two revolvers and two rifles in the caliber.

Price seems quite a bit out of line, even for "cutting edge" technology.
Think I'll continue with the lesser offerings.
