Today's trip to my LGS..."

Picked up two 1K packs of the WLP primers and took a look at the ammo area. PLENTY of 12 and 20 ga. shotgun ammo from floor to ceiling but no .410 at all. Glad I stocked up on that little by little during the summer when they had all types of .410. 45 Colt is still at 69 and 79 bucks per box of 50 !!
44 Mag is around 59 bucks. Glad I load for that! Plenty of Alliant BE-86 on the shelf which is a good sub for Unique.

Stopped at my LGS yesterday and shopped the shotgun ammo selection as well. 12,20, and 28 ga. Was kind of looking for 16 but that wasn't there nor was there 410 ammo. Haven't seen any 45 Colt except for some cowboy ammo a couple of months ago. Bought 3 boxes of Browning 17 HMR which I haven't seen before and thought I would try and compare to the Hornady which is the only brand I have put through my CZ.

About the same for us on the ammo prices, but as with Ernie, finding anything in 45 Colt other than cowboy loads is tough. 44 mag I can find easy enough, but 41 mag is almost impossible. Have to hit gun shows on that or order online. Oh, yeah, my big bore shooting is now only once in awhile, at best.

A local gun shop called recently to let me know they got in a Stoeger Coach gun in 20 gauge. I had already found one, so I passed. I asked about any 158 grain +P .38 special or any 148 grain .38 wadcutters. No go on either one.

Is it bad when they call you because they know what you are looking for? :D

NO SIR, I actually see that as a plus.
I have a friend in Texas that buys and trades firearms quite frequently.
A couple of the gun and pawn shop will actually call when they get something they think he will be interested in. :o

I see it as a plus too! It can get expensive, but I enjoy getting the calls.
