Oh no not those Federal things that fail to go off....you can send those to me for disposal!RanchRoper wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 5:36 pmThe primers I bought today are Federal. Never used them before. Always use Winchester ones. The other ones they had were CCI.

Ammo companies are giving fair warning of price hikes beginning in April of 3 to 15% across all product lines. This from J. Vanderbrink, President of Ammunition for Vista Outdoor corp. His customers are the distributors, not you and me, so count on the retailers to add a couple more % to the consumer price. Yeah, it really does flow downhill.

Dear Customer:
Thank you for your business and for your continued support of American manufacturing. We have hired hundreds of people over the last 12 months and invested millions of dollars to produce more ammunition to meet our customer and consumer needs. During this year we have seen significant increases in raw material prices such as copper, zinc, and lead. Additionally, increases in labor and health care have exceeded our projections as the COVID-19 pandemic has affected us all.
Effective 4/1/2021 Federal, Remington, CCI, and SPEER ammunition will take a price increase of 3-15% across all products from our last price list. Unless you notify us to cancel an order, we will reprice all existing and future orders shipped on or after 4/1/2021 to the new 4/1 prices.
You will receive your finalized price list no later than February 19th.
Thank you for your continued support of our brands and our American workforce.
Jason R. Vanderbrink
President Ammunition

I have to agree. With 4000+ people in the U.S. dying from Covid each day and hospitals and morgues filled to capacity and our medical personnel overwhelmed and exhausted, and with a clearly inadequate distribution of effective Covid vaccines, and with food banks struggling to meet the needs of millions of families, and with an angry mob of insurgents invading and vandalizing the Nation's Capitol and threatening the Constitutional process for the first time ever; Yup! It's not normal. Nothing is normal. As Dorothy Gale said, "We're not in Kansas anymore."
If we survive everything else, we will have access to ammo again. Eventually, it will return to local inventories, but, as Gunny notes, it will certainly cost more than it ever has and it will be slow in coming. I'm fortunate that I have more than I'll need for quite a long time.

I bought handgun today at the AFB PX near me, and it was quite interesting that they had more handguns in the large display counter (which was plum full) than they had boxes of ammo on the shelf behind the counter. They were even out of snap caps.CT_Shooter wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 8:27 pmI have to agree.
