LGS trip 12/6

Post by fortyshooter » Sun Dec 06, 2020 2:22 pm

Stopped by this afternoon and was surprised to see a good bit of 9mm ammo Blazer Brass and Magtech 115 gr. for 24.99 per box of 50. About 3X what it used to sell for and 2 box per was the limit. I bought a box for my son while there...Christmas present.

Now primers??? Two boxes of 209 shotgun primers and that was it. Powders?? Some powder and 3 containers of 2400 and some BE-86 and H-4198 but no Unique.
Gun counter had quite a few semi-auto pistols but the revolver case was almost empty. Plenty of rifles along the wall too.

Pretty much what I've seen lately forty. no primers, except some 209's, plenty of powder, no hand gun ammo[glad I handload] and next to no single action revolvers. Crazy times.

Since the primer shortage, I have slowed down on centerfire firearm shooting and migrated to busting clay pigeons with 12 and 20 gauge shotguns. I have reloaded more shotgun shells the last 6 weeks than I did all last year.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I don’t load for shotgun but if I did I would find everything I need. Lots of shotgun powder and primers everywhere. Locally our guntrader website price gougers have been listing 9mm for $25 per box but I see now that it is creeping towards $30. When the local Bi-Mart had some in stock about a month ago it was $12 and $14 for CCI Blazer Brass and Federal. Thank you Bi-Mart for not gouging. All gone now of course.
