Well, if somebody has to have them other than me, I’m glad the army does.

Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

I'll second that!

I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

If they want you back you'll get a letter from them like the one I got in '88. Never did get the phone call tho. If you recall, this was just prior to the 1st Gulf war.Team Roper wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 8:31 amRight on !

Re: Where all the primers went
I was going to re-up right before the cut off age so I went to Ft. Bragg and went into the 82nd Sport Parachute Club where I used to sport jump from and talked to the officers and NCO's there over some beers. Since I was still married at the time, it didn't sound like a good idea since the Rangers spent at least 10 month out in the field training and same with the Green Berets. Regular Infantry like I was in was 6 to 7 month in the field and over seas as well. I was not the type to be a desk jockey so I decided against going back in even though I may have got my Sargent stripes back within a year. Had the Army not cut me a bad deal after my second tour in Nam, I might have stayed in but I was three months at the hospital on post at Ft Knox and when I went to re-enlist, they said they were taking me off jump statis and assigning me to Tanks and training cruits.Prior to my going back to Vietnam, I was guaranteed a permanent spot on the Army Parachute Team, The Golden Knights , but since they would not let me go back to Bragg, I got out even after they offered me another stripe and a bunch of pay. Seems to me that after two combat tours a Seargent could get what he wanted. Not so.GunnyGene wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 8:44 amIf they want you back you'll get a letter from them like the one I got in '88. Never did get the phone call tho.
