New kitchen faucet
New kitchen faucet
For those of you who have been so honored to replace a kitchen faucet, you know of which I speak. The old faucet was leaking, been repaired a few times, finally bought the farm. So bought a new one at Lowes, planned on reusing the same hoses if they were good.
Not any more.New faucet came with pex hoses made into the faucet, and rather long. Had to warm them a bit as they were curled in the box. The old nuts ( plastic, brass bolts ) were corroded. Had to apply some heat to break 'em loose. After that, everything went pretty smooth ( except the part about getting into the cabinet & reaching the back of the sink ).
With some help from my better half, we got her done. If this one lasts as long as to old one, I won't be doing that again, Whew!!

Re: New kitchen faucet
Have replaced our kitchen faucet 3 times-always with something a little on the cheaper side-darned things start dripping and no matter what brand I used they all started the drip-repair-still drips.
This time we bought a Price Pfister with the ceramic disc faucet handle inserts-couple years went by and sure enough the drip starts-so I purchased the repair set for hot and cold side-$13.00 for the set-and lo and behold they worked-Price Pfister all the way.

I have had no problems with Pfister. Very easy installs as well.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

My wifes carehome when she still had it was a very old building. There wasnt anything in there that matched up with todays advancements in plumbing. I remember making 5 and 6 trips to either Lowes or Home Depot. About the forth trip my blood pressure needed some serious trigger time to come back down. Needless to say I dont care if I ever do another sink

Yea, I hear Ya Al. The only stress is having the right parts available w/o having to run back and forth to the home centers.

Re: New kitchen faucet
I fixed mine a couple years ago. ( professional Plumbers are wonderful). I saved money by doing it myself... but a headache for a halfwit such as myself.. a fifteen minute job took me two hours ( and many a heartfelt curse world) I got it fixed.. has worked fine ever since.
Disturbing detail, when I was finished I one extra piece left over that I couldn't find a place to screw on... I started to tear it all apart to determine where it was supposed to go, however good sense took over at the last second, and I said wait,... everything is working just fine.... don't mess with sleeping dogs... so i put up my tools and tip toed away... and all is still fine two years later.....
