Weather here is not nearly as extreme as your's but the only time Ruby used her shed was during heavy rainfall, didn't bother her to have several inches of snow on her back.

Goat are a different story, a slight drizzle and they head for their shelter. Also they hate to get their feet muddy, when they were sharing the paddock with Ruby or the neighbor's cows they would walk around the edges close to the fence to avoid the deeper mud.

Id be burnin alot of hay to if I had to stay warm at 0 and 4 feet of snow on the ground.
