I installed the large loop on my Henry 44 mag. I added the shims and like that better. Without the shims, it was pretty sloppy. I was a steel fabrication fitter for 18 years, sloppy, not good.
I understand where you're coming from. I was a machinist for 15 yrs. Sloppy didn't get it done. Of course most tolerances on a gun aren't that close. USPS tracking says it'll arrive today. We'll see how it goes.
BTW, welcome home brother.

FWIW, for anyone interested, large loop shims are now in stock at Ranger Point. I ordered some just in case while they're available.

Thanks Larry. Getting ready to order a LL replacement for my SGC. Practically new, but showing patches of surface rust. I always keep my guns well wiped and protected, so I don't get it.
I know Henry will make it right though.

Well, Mark, that just seems to happen sometimes, with the best you can do. No explanation here.
As for the shims, not sure they're needed, but as I said getting them just in case. After I installed my new LL lever, I loaded the tube,
ran them thru, rapid, never missed a beat. Seems to be better than the old one. Got a few hang ups with it. Blamed it on myself,
so, who knows. Bottom line, I'm well satisfied with the swap. They both have some slop, whether that's a problem or not, can't say.
Shims are $15, including shipping. $12 + $ 3 ship.
Good luck with your venture, buddy. :D

Good looking lever on that Henry. Another good place to get trigger/lever shims for Henry rifles is Triggershims.com. We have their shims on several of our Henrys' levers. Great little made in the USA/mom & pop company....

Good video, tractortad. I saved it in bookmarks, just in case. At age 76, bookmarks has a better memory than I do.
