Lever Wraps

Post by Jerrysea » Sat Jul 11, 2020 6:40 pm

How much does a lever wrap help with cocking the Henry? Do they require being removed every now and then to clean the lever under them?
Are they difficult to install properly?

I leave mine on and like it. Took a bit to get used to. I just clean around it, and wipe it down with oil once in awhile. Took a few minutes to lace it on.

I put one on mine because my fingers hurt when I cycled the action. Lever wrap helped a lot. But with the wrap on it can be hard to get your fingers through if you are wearing gloves. I do like to cool cowboy look to it, tho.

Where to get the lever wraps? Been thinking about putting one on my Marlin and Henry with their big loops. Your's are looking good.

Mine came with the stock cover....check with him, I am sure he'd sell you one by itself. You can make one yourself too, just get some soft leather strips and wrap away....

Bought mine from this guy. Has videos online how to install them. I have 2 one for the regular lever the other for the large loop. There easy to install and no need to remove them. Like the Chef says world of difference on finger damage.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I have one on my carbine with the big loop lever. It’s definitely more comfortable to cycle with the wrap and it looks good.

I took my large loop lever to a local leather shop. They made the wrap and put it on for $20.00.

Makes it a lot more comfortable on the top of my fingers.

I see you added a saddle ring, I added one to my H001 also.

I used the Pioneer gun Works lever wrap. I ordered the extended length wrap. And cut it to fit My Large Loop, Henry Lever. The installation was simple and effective. The care is just to simply wipe it clean.

As mentioned above, the comfort of slamming your knuckles into the padded lever is much appreciated.
