Thanks for the video link. Seems to answer my question quite well. Looks like I'll be putting the .327 Henry on my wish list.

I've got a S&W 31-1 in pristine shape. I take it to the range maybe once a year. It's a fine shooter for sure. Never had the inkling to try them in the Henry though. It shoots really smooth with the mag loads.

I shot a lot of longs in my rifle today
I found it will cycle fine if you keep the same type of round in the tube
so don't put a long 2 h&r 3 fed mags and 2 longs..... it doesn't like it

reported personal experience appreciated .... I have no clue why it wouldn't like mixing them and find that to be very interesting

Mine has digested .32 S&W longs without even noticing.
I have fired .32S&W shorts as well, but they take a little finesse on the lever to get them to feed properly.
The ammo capability is one of the reasons I bought the Henry .327.

Here’s another great video on the Henry 327 Federal magnum.

I have both the steel carbine and the brass rifle models. Both shoot/feed the 32 S&W Longs without a hiccup.

I can now tell ya that not only does it cycle .32 long it is accurate
I enjoy making cans dance a jig between my big boy with .32longs and my youth model .22 shorts
tons of fun
I have thoroughly cleaned the bore and elemated the ring so all ready to fire .327 fed mag

I've never tried HR magnums or SW long in my 327. Heck the recoil is nothing as is. I guess they could be a good plinking load but might just as well be shooting a .22.

I cast and shoot Lee 90gn Semi wadcutters in my S&W 30's so a carbine would be a fun plinker and small game taker.

I use that pill in my henry loaded in 32S&WL cases for around 1100fps. Fantastic small game load, feeds and function through the rifle without any issues.
Mine will fire and eject 32S&W but they have to be single loaded, being significantly shorter than even the 32S&WL they certainly will not feed through the magazine.
