Standing Tripod

Post by leverjc » Sat May 02, 2020 2:31 pm

The standing tripod I ordered finally arrived. I bought this so I can sight in my rifles for Lever Silhouette using free recoil like I shoot at a match. I haven't shot any live rounds with it yet but have played with it in the garage 25' dry fire range. I think this will really help me get my rifles zeroed. The tripod allows me to shoot with the stance I use in competition but gives the front of the rifle enough support that I can hold it on the target better for sighting. If the range isn't to crowded tomorrow I give a report on how it does live fire. :)

I'm really looking forward to your report .... many years ago I elk hunted with a fellow in Colorado who used a bipod shooting stick .... he was a fine shot .... other than that hunting trip, I've never hunted were a shooting stick would have been an asset ... :?
