This is the reason I bought steel instead of brass. The brass rifles are beautiful and period correct, but I'm the type that would cringe every time I put a scratch on it. Maybe I'm just weird. :)

My Henry has a few character marks on it now, just from wear and tear, and packing it horseback in the bush. All good.

Yeah, I polished my BB brass once. Now, it has a nice patina going on.

I hear Ya RR. Just that it would not bother me as much if I got a ding or scratch on my BBS as opposed to brass.
By no means upset Badger though! :D
Yours is a beautiful rifle!

The upside to brass is it's fairly easy to repair minor scratches.

Not so with blued steel.

I also considered that, if hunting, I don't need anything flashing in the woods. ;)

You could hunt with one of your non - flashy guns and keep the 'flash' to the range or non-serious hunting such as varmints.
