I like wooden stocks....synthetic, not so much
Wonder if any of their other pistol grip stocks would fit on that thing :?:

I am still looking for an X locally so I can decide if I want to buy a .44 Mag. There have been a few .44 s on Gunbroker, I wonder where they came from. My LGS stocks tons of Henrys and they say all the X models are backordered.

i ran across a suppressed X .357 Mag on Reddit. The guy works in the firearm industry and apparently was able to get one early.

This one is growing on me. It look like a good truck gun that can take a beating. That and .44 mag makes for a good useful rifle. Don't get me wrong, I still love a good wood and steel rifle.

Hey All,

This Marlin in 44mag does not look like a bad alternative to the Henry x model. It is stainless an the barrel is a bit shorter and it is lighter. Does not come in 45 colt tho.

I really love a grey laminate and stainless carbine. The XS Scout Rail is top notch equipment. It is a pricey rifle and the build quality is very suspect. You may or may not get a gun that is put together right... that alone would prevent me from buying one. But it does indeed tug on my heart. I had a Marlin 1895 .45/70 just like it, once upon a time.

Hey All,

If the street price for an x is about $850 that is equivalent to the price I would pay in canada for the marlin on sale at current exchange rates. Basically the same price at least here in Canada. So is the quality of new remlins so bad the x is the better rifle? Have remlins improved in quality?

A better comparison would be the Marlin Dark Series Rifles. MSRP 967.98
