Big Boy Color Case Hardened

Post by Henry43 » Fri Dec 27, 2019 9:18 am

Hello. I am new to the group. I just ordered my 1st Henry. A Big Boy color cased hardened rifle in .44 mag. Any others that own a CCH? And your thoughts on them.

we have both a BBS 357, a BBS 44 Mag, and a CCH 45-70 .... knowing what I know now, I wish all three were CCH's .... be sure to add your Henry to our community's total at the link below

I'm thinking about the .30-30 CCH also.

Congrats on the new Henry, and Welcome to the forum.
I'm hoping they offer the sidegates in CCH at some time.
Would love to have one in 38-55.

I have the CCH 45-70 and a 357 in the carbine model. I agree with Jim all of mine would be the CCH if they were available when I bought some of the others. Welcome to the forum glad you joined us.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Congrats and welcome to the forum! I have two Henry CCH's (45-70 and 30-30) and I love them, they are beautiful rifles! I am also looking forward to some day getting a Big Boy in CCH. One note though, the case hardening doesn't really protect the metal like bluing does and the case hardening can rust if not protected from moisture. I keep one in a humidity controlled gun safe and the other is on display. The one on display I lightly coat with oil, and check every now and then.

I have an H009CCH in 30-30. Almost too pretty to take in the woods. Shoots well and is my favorite of my deer guns. I left mine unscoped as it is already over 8 lbs. It does balance well however when moving through the woods. Transfer bar safety is so much better than the Marlins and it is much easier to break down and clean especially the mag tube. Hood luck with it.
