The barrel on my H001 is shiny, and it’s supposed to be. The barrel and other blued parts on my H009 30-30 are not shiny, and they’re not supposed to be. My understanding is Henry says it’s hunting rifle, and it’s not supposed to have highly reflective surfaces.

Hope you like your 38-55 as much as I like mine. Its a shooter for sure. Ive been shooting the Lyman bullet in it that Montana Bullets cast. Sized to 377 they shoot very well. http://henryrifleforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=7515... Here is a range report when I got mine out to shoot it. 38-55 is and always has been one of my favorite rounds. I own 4 rifles in that caliber.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......
