Cycling Issue ?
While shooting my BBS 357 this afternoon; I noticed something. When I cycle my lever and the bolt comes back, it makes contact with and slides across the top of the hammer. Does not catch, cycle is smooth, however, can already see wear marks from this. OK with me I guess, just wondering if this is normal. I do have an extender on my hammer, because the rifle is scoped, The contact first hits the extender mount, but still rides the top of the hammer. Is this normal? Don't really see a fix for this. Certainly, bolt and hammer position are what they are!...talking about the under side of the bolt of course!

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Re: Cycling Issue ?
I really have no problem with it because it is not catching or affecting the cycle. just wondering about long term wear.

Ya, the bolts as they extend have a bit of slop in them. So figured it was just meant to be that they would slide across the top of the hammer.

Re: Cycling Issue ?
All of my lever guns do this including my Marlin, I never thought about it, since I lube the bolts anyway this has never been a problem, as far as it wearing out eventualy it would give me an excuse to get a fancier looking part.
