I've got a round ball load that sounds like a pellet rifle, and a 350 gr cast bullet load that smacks like a freight train. My plinking load is a 250 gr cast bullet at a little over 1000 fps with very little recoil.
Like to learn more about that 350 gr. bullet load! Will it cycle thru that Rossi?

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I think you're going to love 45 colt in a rifle. I ran across a great deal on a 20 inch Rossi, and I couldn't resist. It's too much fun. I've got a round ball load that sounds like a pellet rifle, and a 350 gr cast bullet load that smacks like a freight train. My plinking load is a 250 gr cast bullet at a little over 1000 fps with very little recoil.
Agree with this here, very fun out of a rifle.
I have one in a Marlin 1894 Cowboy. It's a hoot.
Hoping to do a little deer hunting with it this Fall.

I misspoke on the bullet weight. It's a lee 340 grain .457 powder coated and sized down to .454. I'm using Hodgdon published data for a 360 grain bullet. I'm not sure if I've ever tried to run them through the magazine. I tend to single load the Rossi when I'm shooting off the bench. I'll be glad to try it tomorrow.

Are you affiliated with that bunch? I absolutely love that channel. Such a shame about Wind. I know he's greatly missed.

I do know several of them, Steve the guy shooting and I were just up in Minn. this past week on a pheasant hunt.
Wind was a special kind of man, and is greatly missed for sure.

I've never had an opportunity to shoot at ranges of that distance ... ever since Quigley I've wanted a rifle with a Vernier Long Range Tang Sight .... if I had access to a place with such ranges, I would be seriously in the market .... that said, while it would probably be a Henry lever action, I have no clue what caliber or rifle I'd want
