But, but, that ain't a Henry! Just kidding! A nice rifle to be sure. Don't find those everyday. Do enjoy.

Nice! I’ve recently rediscovered the love for my 1895GS through use of cowboy action loads. The .45-70 rounds I used before were too much for my injured shoulder, but the big 405 grain bullets are way easier to shoot. The Marlins aren’t as nice a built gun as the Henrys, but I still like them too.
Let us know your thoughts once you get a few through it!

Congratulations on your great selection. It is a very good cartridge. I picked up a 444 myself back in the mid 90's. I load my own with the 265 gr. flat points and its a very accurate rifle. I have shot the Gummy points as well and they shoot even better. I bought the Limb-saver (they offer a replacement for the hard rubber std pad) recoil pad and that helps a lot to tame the recoil. Enjoy !

Henry doesn't make one in fo, fo, fo.
Got a pair of JM's myself, hope yours is a keeper.

My 1895 GS is a late JM model. It’s a beautiful gun, but just not quite as buttery smooth as a Henry. I do love it though. I’ve tried out a couple of late model 336s and they felt like they were factory lubed with beach sand. No bueno. I do hear they are getting better though.
