The new Marlins might be getting better but the company that builds them isnt getting better. Especially if you have issues with them Remington doesnt give a darn about customer service. I would not walk across the street to buy a new anything by Remington.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

to me, that's really sad .... our Remington rifles and shotguns have a long history of exceptional service .... unless something really weird was to take place, we wouldn't even consider parting with any of them .... I well remember the first time Remington let me down .... that came when they discontinued their Model 742 Woodsmaster line of rifles .... almost overnight parts became scarce to nonexistent and factory support evaporated

I agree Jim it is. But I have read so many times about and experienced it first hand with an 1894 357 Stainless that I have that was so bad it should have never left there factory. They never fixed it and I ended up sending it to someone who worked it over and got it working like it should. It now cycles and will run both 357 and 38 special real well. I also have a 700 BDL in a varmit barrel 243 that is a really good rifle. It shoots very well and has a tuned trigger in it. I dont shoot it much but when I do its a great gun.
