Tim, those Speer 180's and 220's, are those jacketed?
I have also loaded and shot Sierra RN. no complaints.
All Silhouette shooting.
Tim
Ok, jacketed.

As far as cast goes. I was looking for cast lead in my 35 rem as a less expensive option.
From Montana Bullet Works, great options and service just not a less expensive option.

I can get the Jacketed Speers at a good price locally and I've stocked up a bit.

I'm likely to snap up the first one of these I come across regardless of what it's chambered for! I'm a big fan of the .35 Remington, but I can't hunt deer with it here in Ohio, so it would be a groundhog/general shooting rifle. For that type of use, any of the three (.35/.30-30/38-55) would work well.

Vaquero, believe me, my wheels are turning! When I get back from a hunting trip, I'll be sitting down to really ponder this one. Can you give me an idea what your cast loads are? Scheese, I'll be thinking more on that Marlin than helping my bud look for deer. Well, maybe not, but, you know...... Thanks.
Tom I used the RCBS 200gr bullets for a long time.
Then I bought a Lee's version of it.
I powder coat and load them over 24.5 grs of IMR 4198.
Have taken a few deer with this load.

Good luck on the deer hunt.
