The only shims I've ever seen or heard about are those that limit side-to-side lever movement. Is that what you're shimming?

Yes Esquared, the kit includes 1 set each for the trigger, hammer, and lever. Trigger shims is the company that is making them.

No experience with them here, nor do I know of any (you might "Search" for some keywords).

Are needing/wanting to shim just the lever or is there something about the trigger and/or hammer that you're tweaking? I guess I'm not following the benefit(s), as my Henry levers' triggers have been pretty good out of the box. But then again, I'm not sure what "shimming them" brings to the party.

Im wanting to take some of the slop out of the lever. I probably wont use the other shims, but they come as a set so.... There is really no problem as far as function goes. As a side note, i will be putting a williams reciever sight on the rifle. It uses the same hole spacing amd thread size that is on the Henry. I called Williams and they said to get the sight thats fits the Marlin 336.... of which i just happen to have a JM stamped one. I did some quick measuring., and sure enough, hole spacing is the same.

When you do get the Williams sight mount it in REVERSE and flip the windage slide around so it is level. It will fit better without hanging off the rear of the receiver.
And FWIW the slop in the lever is normal. If you feel you must shim it however I would not use steel shims but recommend you cut your own out of brass shim stock.

We have their lever shims on a few of our Henrys - they work well. I think you could probably fit their H006 kit onto an H0012 Henry - the lever screws are the same size/thread. Great little mom&pop company out of Nebraska...

Thank you very much. I thought more people might be using the shims, but i guess not. I went ahead and odered a set and while i was at it, i ordered a set for my Bisley Blackhawk .45 colt as it is showing some galling on the hammer. Thanks agian, Bruce
