Re: New Henry
Well, got the rifle about 3 wks ago. Have had 3 sight in sessions and the best i can get so far is 6" at 50yds. Not nearly good enough. Been using an rcbs- 270-saa cast bullet mold sized to .454"over 6.6 grs red dot and 24 grs of H110. It definately likes the barn burners best. Any suggestions?

Re: New Henry
suggest you buy 2 or 3 different brands of factory ammo and test them .... if your spread continues to be 6" at 50 yards, I'd recommend you call Henry and provide them with the information / targets demonstrating it .... do not mention using reloads, Henry specifically prohibits them (liability reasons)schreck5 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2019 9:08 pmWell, got the rifle about 3 wks ago. if the factory loads close up the spread, you should take a look at modifying your reloads

Re: New Henry
Welcome, and sorry about your situation. I had a similar situation (assuming factory sighting system) with my H009 when I got it. I was on paper at 25 yards (standing) but could not hit anything (shooting high with rear sight at lowest limit) using a bench at 50 yards. Mind you, one on the guys at the club (who is in the 1,000 yards group) could not hit anything at 50 yards as well. After contacting Henry, I was advised to lower the insert on the rear sight some. After a slight adjustment, I was able to hit about center. How you tried adjusting the insert yet?
P.S.

Actions speak louder than words (Matthew 7:16-20).
Re: New Henry
.
I echo GFK's suggestion. Here is a picture of the insert. Yours will be mounted on a ladder rear sight and might not have the white elevation marks. Loosen the screw and adjust the insert up/dn as needed.
