Thanks for suggesting the cleaners. But how to get at the transfer bar channel to flush it out is still a mystery. It's not like a Henry where you can see the top of the transfer bar and channel in the Henry hammer. In the Uberti revolver the top of the transfer bar and channel is hidden behind the firing pin in the hammer. It's not obvious how one goes about removing the firing pin and transfer bar.

Does your hammer look like this?

If so, then there is no transfer bar. The closest "safety" you have on a loaded chamber would be the half cock notch which is not much if dropped.
A hammer with a transfer bar (safety block) would have a flat face and the firing pin is in the frame. See hammer, safety block (item 55) and firing pin (item 15) on a Blackhawk:

Sorry for the highjack.

The upper part of the hammer looks like in the first URL. But in mine the firing pin floats in the hammer until full cock at which time the transfer bar inside the hammer slips up behind the firing pin holding the firing pin in the extended ready to fire position.

That's a pretty strange looking "transfer bar" on that gun. I don't blame you for not trusting it.

How long will the progression to other calibers take? Are we talking years to get to a 357 or 45 LC?

That's up to the company. There's a lot to consider just from a purely business standpoint (will it improve the company's bottom line, etc.). This new model was 2 years in development. They will likely wait a year or 2 to see how this initial entry sells.

Has any asked Henry if and when the steel versions will be available? If not, then I’m about to fire off and email question to them since the only really good information is that they are planning other calibers.

Well received this answer from Henry
“Thank you for contacting Henry. I haven’t heard of any plans of yet but you can suggest it at
https://www.henryusa.com/henry-firearm-suggestion-box/“
Not much for an answer but who knows, maybe it’s in the works. In the meant time I’ll continue saving for a 30-30 even if it’s in the old version.

Did you really expect them to tell the truth about competitive planning? That's confidential info and never something a business will talk about. People get fired for revealing possible future company plans without express permission from the CEO.
