Looking at a Henry...
Re: Looking at a Henry...
I think the weight difference 'feel' is negligible. Just hefting the two I have they are both a bit heavy (7 lbs vs 8.7).

Yeah I'm about to bust if I dont order soon. What about sights? I have Skinners on two rifles, an Express on 1895CB and dovetail mount on Winchester 74 and love them both. With the short barrel will the factory sight work well or is the sight radius too short for peeps?

We have a Skinner Express/Lyman Globe setup on our Henry BBB 44M Carbine - works great.

You beat me to it. I absolutely love my .357 CCH Henry! Very nice looking and shoots like a dream. I have the 20” barrel but I’m thinking I might get the CCH big loop for it.BigAl52 wrote:Welcome to the forum Settingsun1892. Glad you joined us. Have you looked at the CCH models. There also very nice and lighter than the brass models. Carbine models in the Henrys handle very nice. I prefer them over the 20 inch model.

I am going to try that. My .357 has a pretty heavy trigger pull.Settingsun1892 wrote:I found that polishing the contact surfaces helps a lot. Just 800 grit sandpaper and scotchbrite with fine metal polish. Putting a file on a sear unless you are a competent gunsmith is asking for trouble and safety issues.
