I like the idea of a regional gathering of forum folks. Would a "Region" be CO, KS, NE, MO....? Wonder how our membership is distributed by state? Anybody in a position to know that could tell us if that data is even out there?

Okay, if the answer is "No," to my question, maybe we should revisit what triggered that question, which is the exchange above about some sort of "regional" gathering, which is an idea I've batted around with others before.

To begin to even think about organizing such a thing, the biggest challenge would be to try to segment the members with some sort of logical geographic boundaries so that such gatherings could at least be talked about amongst those members.

so, even if the answer is "No, we can't (or won't) extract the data we have," how hard would it be to create such a database on a voluntary basis from those members who would care to share it, for the express purpose of organizing (or trying to organize) in-person, regional get-togethers of members?

Maybe we're not big enough and too geographically dispersed to have any sort of critical mass, even regionally, but it would be interesting to explore, wouldn't it?

I think a fair number would respond, without giving personal info, to a regional invite. We would just have to set a place and time. Anyone in range would be free to attend.

I, personally, would be honored to meet some of my fellow shooters.
