Leupold 2x7x33 installed
Got scope installed, used the talley medium rings from henry. Its tight but does not touch the rear buckhorn sight by about 1/2mm. Glass eye relief is perfect and crystal clear. Jumps right up to the eye. Range time tomorrow!

Octagon, I'm definitly NOT one of the most knowledgeable here on the forum, but just a curious question for my own reference.
Given where your scope sits to clear the buck horn, do you still have quick target acquisition in terms of eye relief? By the way...very nice rifle, that CCH receiver looks great!

Yes, for me it is perfect. I had the concern that I would need to remove the rear sight and ordered the skinner dovetail blank, but it is not needed.

we have Nikon scopes on all three of our Henry rifles .... no issue with clearing the OEM buckhorn or eye relief

Same scope set-up I used on my CCH 30-30. You just made a great rifle even better! Congrats all around!

I really like that compact scope, I have a VX1 2-7x33 that was first on a luscious Browning 1885 .45/70, now it is on my 10/22 Takedown Magpul Backpacker on Warn QD rings.
Man I miss that gun....
My pic is squashed, it looks fine when saved and then viewed, how do I fix that? Is there a maximum width for the forum?

Re: Leupold 2x7x33 installed
I have the VX2 version of the same optic on my BBS carbine (.44 mag) and love it! I've only shot paper so far, but was getting baseball sized groups at 50 yards with S&B 240 grain soft points. It was 40 degrees out with 12-15 mph winds and I had no gloves. I suspect my groups might tighten up a bit in better conditions.
At that distance I was getting minute of pig ear groups, which is my primary target of choice.
Beautiful rifle, by the way!

Your pic is actually stretched vertically. Known issue and hopefully fixed with the maintenance updates. In the meantime you can try reposting the the pic in 4:3 ratio in decreasing pixel size ratios until is posts correctly.
