45-70 Wildlife Edition

Post by Lmobeats » Thu Feb 28, 2019 7:25 am

Has anyone bought the Henry Steel Wildlife edition of the 4570? I'm thinking about ordering it but haven't had the chance to see it in person. If anyone has one please share photos. I'd like to see it in person or at least pictures from someone who has one before I drop 1200 dollars on it. Also if anyone can point me in the right direction of finding the best deal on it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome from the Show-Me-State, Lmobeats.

The two receiver photos of the H010WL Henry you're considering look really cool on the Henry website. I especially like the bear profile engraving on the receiver's left side.

I think it would be a fine choice, but understood on wanting to handle/see one. That is the best way to go.
Enjoy your hunt.

First, Welcome to the forum from KC! Glad you've joined us and sounds like you're going big on your first Henry purchase!

While I can't help you personally on a live sample, there may be an owner here who pops up with some photos.

As another suggestion, you might send an email to Henry Customer Service. They have limited visibility as to where their firearms end up once they go into the distributor network(s), but they might be able to guide you to a distributor who can tell you where you might find a 45-70 Wildlife at retail.

When it comes to deals, Gunbroker is a good place to start. https://www.gunbroker.com/All/search?Ke ... on&Sort=13

Here's another online retailer with decent pricing, free shipping and no CC fees:

Best of luck in your search, keep us posted and Welcome again!

Welcome to the forum. 45-70 is a great choice. I own 2 of the Henry 45-70's but neither of mine either are the wildlife edition. Im not sure where you are at but you might check some of the local Walmarts they do carry Henrys at some of there stores. Im not sure if they would carry a special edition but they might have a regular edition you could handle.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Thanks guys for the reply and yes I'm going big for my first Henry. I've always been into semiautomatics rifles and carbines but wanted to take a step back and go back to where it all began. I am thinking about the steel wildlife version because it is going to be in the woods a lot but I also wanted something nice like that that could become a family heirloom and also look good on display but be functional. I will be ordering one soon so I will be sure to post some pictures when I get it
