I've been told (and have read) that that's one reason that nickel plated brass was first introduced for ammunition. It doesn't turn green like brass does (verdigris) from contact with leather belt loops.

good to know .... if I ever have that belt lengthened so I can wear it again, I'll go with nickle plated .. :D :lol:

Yes I never leave rounds in the belt loops.

The brass does react with the leather. Leave the cartridges in too long and the cases will corrode. Nickle cases would solve that issue.
