As a side note, I don't use the scope mount pictured. It was too high.

Welcome from the TV Oregon! Take a look at Brass Stacker no-drill harness slings for Henry rifles: https://brassstacker.com/No-Drill-Harne ... HENRY.html There are other merchants for no-drill and I'm sure other members here will offer their suggestions too.

This is what I have on my Henry .30-30.

Looking for advice on which way to go: install studs and traditional sling, or get one of the no-drill slings. I have ordered a set of fiber-optic sights as well. I have never used them but I think they might be agreeable to me. Also I thought about trying a Williams FP peep like I put on my H010 .45-70. Any thoughts?

Who doesn't love a scabbard? But, it seems like you MUST have a horse or the scabbard is just a leather sleeve, no?

This how it is currently mounted. There is enough of a gap to the top of the buckhorn sights that I could go even lower. But I get good eye relief as it is, so not likely to go lower. Still on topic, but as "things", no so much as "slings".

I just received my first jar. When it comes to the brass, does the Ren Was actually polish it up as well, or do you polish with something else and just put the Ren Was over the top to protect it?

I only use the Ren Wax. Apply with a cloth that is 100% cotton. Polyester and eCloths are synthetic and will leave fine line scratches in the brass finish. Buff with a separate cloth also 100% cotton. Think of it like you would do shoes. Apply with one cloth, buff with another. I also use it on the wood, but not blued metal. Won't hurt blued metal, but I prefer using gun oil on blued metal.
