"Little sister" has arrived!!!

Post by bdbrown66 » Tue Jan 15, 2019 9:18 am

When I got my Henry CCH .45-70 a couple years ago, it became one of my favorites. It looks, and shoots, very well. When I saw that Henry was introducing the CCH models in the pistol calibers, I knew my .45-70 needed a "little sister." So, here we are, in .45 Colt. Given that most of my deer hunting around here in KY is under 100 yards, that should be perfectly adequate. And as a handloader, it's quite possible to meet or exceed the .44 mag ballistics with the .45 Colt at those ranges.

Haven't shot it yet, waiting on the weather to clear up a bit for some range time.

Great looking .45 shooter you have! A 250 gr. XTP bullet with 20 gr. of 2400 ought to get you started in the right direction.

Mighty fine looking "unmatched" pair you have there (stealing a term from John Barsness ;) ).

Beautiful duo right there! Just fantastic! Please keep us posted on how it shoots for you, as well as your reloading experiences. The 45Colt seems to be gaining some traction around here!
