Modern Take on a Henry
If anyone is interested, the rail says to have it installed by a qualified gunsmith. This is because you have to completely disassemble the rifle! You have to remove the barrel clamp dovetailed mount which requires removal of the magazine tube. Removal of the magazine tube requires removal of the entire action assembly to access the Allen key at the base of the tube. It’s really not as difficult as it sounds, but does require some patience and a few specific tools to keep from marring anything.

That's what the kids these days call a "mash-up," that's for sure, but it looks pretty functional and shows some pretty good 'smithing skills, too! The question is: how does it shoot?
Lots of guys customizing their Henrys around here, so welcome to that club!
Even more interesting is the backstory about how you broke the original forend in the first place, but that's none of our business!

Thanks for the photo and the description. Photos on this forum are best displayed in 4:3 ratio, so I resized yours to 1024x768. Beautiful rifle.

Thanks for that. I looked and didn’t see an option for resizing on the forum. If I missed it, please let me know. I’ll make sure to use the 4:3 from now on.CT_Shooter wrote:Thanks for the photo and the description. Photos on this forum are best displayed in 4:3 ratio, so I resized yours to 1024x768. Hey David
Im glad to hear Henry came through with a new forend. There customer service is second to no one. Its things like this and experiences that I have had with them that make a person want to keep supporting them any way you can.

Careful now, someone might confuse that with an “assault rifle” hehehehehe all kidding aside, I love that model and after I get my H004, the all weather .357 should be my fourth Henry.
