With jacketed bullets, have any of you experienced any real difference in performance between these two diameter bullets in your 44 mag. rifles? CP.

all I've knowingly used are listed to be .429 .... in thinking about it, the average human hair is said to average being .004 .... I just don't know how much, if any, difference .001 of an inch can make

I am close to buying another centerfire lever action rifle and am torn between .44 Magnum and .45 Long Colt. I just hunt paper and steel and would be interested in knowing if anyone has developed a target load using .430" lead bullets.

Pretty hard to beat Unique powder in either 44 mag or 45 colt. Some where between 8 to 10 grains in either caliber will get you a good shooting lead bullet load. As far as which one thats a toss up and depends on who you talk to. Buy one of each then everyone will be happy.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I have no experience using .430 jacketed bullets, and very little with jacketed bullets of any size actually. But, from others testimony, the XTP's seem to perform very well as far as accuracy. They are sized at .430. However, if I were buying jacketed, I would probably go with 240gr Zero SP that are sized at .431 http://www.rozedist.com/mm5/merchant.mv ... =ZBJ-44MAG.

Flinch, I got horrible accuracy with .431 sized lead. I am only using cast lead sized at .432 now. They have been very accurate.
