Yes, this popped up in a thread last week, and it has a few of us scratching our heads as to why this would be the next priority in the Long Ranger lineup, other than it's a very "on trend" caliber right now. I've always known it as a long range target round, but I'm sure hunters use it, too.

Look forward to hearing from the first owner here who buys one!

Yeah, that one surprises me, too. The 6.5 Creedmoore is a cartridge I associate with bolt guns or single shots, not a lever gun. Who knows, though? Love to hear about such a gun if someone gets one.

Personally, I like the 6.5's and this is a great addition to the LR lineup. Henry told me they weren't interested in the 7mm-08 because it would just be another cartridge based on the 308 case. Offers excellent long range performance on whitetails, etc, with 120 - 140 gr bullets with noticeably less recoil than a 308. Sounds like a nice addition.

Son picked up a bolt action in 6.5cm just before Christmas.
Haven't done a lot with it yet but it seems to shoot ok. Only used factory hornady ammo so far, 129gr whitetail ammo and 140gr match both shoot 3/4 - 1" at 100 for 5 shots. 500y groups have run 4 - 6".
He wanted to drop it into a tactical style chassis but what he was after was unavailable so it is in a cheap plastic stock. It is quite flexible so I think a better stock would improve things. Will be interesting how it shoots once we work up some reloads for it. I think halving the 500y group size should be possible.

Interested to hear how the Henry shoots if anyone gets one.

The first one I ever saw was offered to me at Hafer’s Guns just west of Hagerstown MD. I passed on it and a buddy walked in 10 minutes later and bought it. That was 2 weeks ago. Tim Hafer has gotten another one in since but I just bought a really nice 97 Silverado at a ridiculously low price. Maybe once the truck is inspected, tagged and titled and I build the bank back up I can get serious about getting one.

Excited while I'd didn't expect it I believe it's a perfect fit for the line and the brand.
I'm even rearranging my purchasing strategy.

A Long Ranger in 6.5 Creedmore will be as close as you can get to a 99 Savage in .250 Savage (aka .250/3000) in a new rifle, since the 6.5 cm is essentially the 250 necked up to .264. I'd argue it'll be better, because its faster rifling twist allows heavier bullets to be used. And all of us 6.5 Swede fans know that diameter bullet just flies better than anything else ;) . It has me kinda intrigued, too :) .

I have been pining for the Long Ranger in 6.5 Creedmoor since it was announced. A buddy that owns a gun store has one sitting on the shelf and it calls out to me every time I walk through the door. I just got a nice bonus so it may be coming home with me very soon :-)
