It just had issues with it and would rather not purchase another. That's why I opted for the Winchester 1892 .357. I also have a JM Marlin in .44 mag. The Winchester shoots fine with the buckhorn sight but am having a Marlbes peep installed on it. I will say I REALLY enjoy the forum. There's a bunch of good folks here and I enjoy reading the threads. There are quite a few of you I could call "friends" and hope one day we'll meet.
I have a .45-70 JM Marlin (1895GS), and a 1912 vintage Winchester 1894 Carbine in .30WCF as well, so there is no shame in that! What issues are you having with your .327? I’m sure they (HRA) will look after you. And if you every get up to the PNW, there are a bunch of guys up this way to visit... MrEd, Mags, Sir Henry, RanchRoper, me...

I think the problems may have finally been worked out but I never had a problem with a new rifle before. Cases were breaking in the chamber even factory ammo. It also had a problem with the bluing of the barrel. It would show light rust if I didn't keep it wiped down with RustePrufe™. Henry replaced the barrel but I dont' feel it's as accurate although not bad. It's at a gunsmith right now for trigger work. He stated that Henry contracted their barrel manufacture and that it was a crap shoot as to whether you'd get a good one or not. I don't know where he got his information or if it's accurate. It still suffers from the occasional eject hang up but that's pretty much caused by not having a "firm handshake" on the lever.

Guilty as charged.

Got a .22 Golden Boy several years ago, and just HAD to get myself a .45LC Big Boy brass.

Redthies wrote:Well, perhaps it’s not exactly alarming, but I’ve noticed a growing trend of people getting a Henry .22 and following up rather quickly with a .357 Big Boy. I happen to think it’s a great duo. Post pics of your pair if you have them!
Guilty as charged.

That’s exactly what I did, X2. Now is time for my H004

I went the other way. Started with a .45-70 CCH and then bought it a "little sister" in .45 Colt. Pics already posted in another thread.

I'm afraid I am guilty as well, and enjoy the trend immensely.
As was the case for me....

1st was standard H001 .22
2nd was standard H001 .22
3rd was Big Boy Brass H006M .357 Magnum
4th was Golden Boy H004 .22
