We have all of the above. The Sonoran desert actually extends all the way up into BC. I can’t remember where I found that pic, but I like it!

Did you see the socks I bought on Wednesday in Fort Bragg?

So apparently my avatar only lasts a few hours at a go. Not impressed, but not sure what is going on.

Redthies, I checked the link for your avatar and it pointed to the website you used to create it. It no longer exists on that website.

What you need to do is re-create your avatar at that site, download it to your own computer, then upload it to the forum as your avatar in your profile. Let me know if you have any trouble. Good luck.

I suspect I got the wrong size too, but since I can’t find it, I can’t measure it. I’m hoping they send me another in the correct size, and being an optimist, I figure they will throw in a peep for my 1895 GS for my trouble! :?
Bummer to hear about your dovetail filler. Will be interested to hear how they handle it. And look forward to seeing pics of the completed project, lever wraps, peepsight, all of it!

.
Marlin and Henry barrel diameters might be different. Measure the diameter of your Henry barrel and give that info too, to the guy at RPP.

I am happy to report I woke up to two emails from Ranger Point Precision. The first was an apology with the explanation that they have seen a few examples of both Henry and Marlins where the dovetail groove is cut shallower than normal. I don’t think that was the case here, as it seemed to be only the width in question. Height looked to be good. Since the filler shot off into a corner under my press and into my scrap metal pile, I guess we will never know for sure. I have a small suspicion that maybe one of the bigger fillers for large caliber barrels made its way here, but again, we’ll have to leave it as one of life’s little mysteries.

The second email was a full refund!! So we now know for sure that RPP has great customer service too! I was hoping for a store credit at best, but a full refund for a part that I can’t return is fantastic! Granted, it’s not a huge cost, or big piece, but it’s the general principle of the thing. I’m very impressed.

We discussed that there IS a difference between Marlin and Henry barrels, but they said it would be not really noticeable at all.
