It’s still a week or two away, and I have a high desert ghost town trip planed for the later half of the month, so I won’t likely be able to shoot it until early October.

To those of you with carbines, I’m going to order a peep for it. Would you do the Express that mounts on the receiver or the dovetail that is barrel mounted? I think it would be a very short sight picture using the dovetail, but $48 vs $90 + $35 for an Express and filler.

.
dovetail mount is HenryUSA's preference. Skinner quotes Anthony Imperato:
...recommend on a daily basis your peep sight that fits in the dovetail slot."

I’ve read that Uncle Anthony recommends the dovetail. On a rifle it’s +/- 16” between the sights. With the carbine it’ll be closer to 12”. I really like the sight set up on my SGC and the Express would be virtually the same.

Have any of you used the dovetail version on a carbine?

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Yeah but when they start threatening to remove body parts or alter things and more specifically certain things then it can get real bad real soon. A finger here or a finger there then maybe not so bad, but we're not talking just fingers here. LOL

Congrats on the BBSC....it’s one of my favorite rifles and is deer capable also. Had some guests from the ‘city’ over this weekend and they really enjoyed shooting the .357. I have a red dot on mine which works out very well for my old eyes.

I got confirmation today that my order is on the way. I won’t see it for a few weeks with my vacation plans, but should have it in time for a whitetail and turkey trip October 12th.
