Long Ranger

Post by dlw » Wed Jul 25, 2018 1:18 pm

Quick update.
Got some leather to make a wrap for my loop. Just have to get some time to work with it. Using a glove for now.

As stated in a reply I made in another post.
Took it out for a short break in (only had time for 400 rds, boy it was getting hot towards the end) and I love it !
I couldn't utilize the low profile factory sights due to my eye sight challenges but got my rail and Eotech installed.
Hoping to go out this Friday for a more serious break in.
I had several ftf on the second round but feel it's me getting used to a lever action. It is smoothing out some with use.
I definitely have to modify the mag release and the magazine floor plate in order to make quicker mag exchanges.

I second that! That's some nice grain on that rifle.

Yes, it is an absolutely beautiful gun.
Fit and finish is excellent at the price point.
Although I haven't disassembled yet, every component I can see is well finished.
No burrs or machining chips found.
Can't say that about other firearms I've gotten.
The Eotech really screws up the clean look but I didn't buy it to be a safe queen.

223/556.
I'm considering purchasing the 7.62x51 version if this one works out well.
I just have a very large supply of 556 and no 7.62.

Classic Firearms has the best prices.
I bought local to support them but paid a premium for it.
Won't get the next one local though.
Normally I purchase through Impact Guns.
They will price match others most of the time.
