H010 rail mounting holes

So I searched around on the forum here and did some Google searching but can't seem to find the answer to my question. Does anyone know if the Henry H010 steel (.45-70) and the Marlin 1895 share the scope mounting screw and rear sight mount spacing? Meaning could I use a rail made for a Marlin 1895 on my Henry H010?

I really like the XS sights and rail but they don't specifically make it for the Henry although in searching for a Henry rail, I've seen the XS come up.

I'm new Henry and the forum so if this is common knowledge or has been discussed before, please forgive me.

Thank you.

Welcome to the forum from the Shenandoah Valley, VA. Are you talking about the XS rail that comes on a Marlin 1895SBL?

Yes, the XS sights rail for Marlin. The one in your picture there. I really like that one but they don't make it specifically for the Henry. From what I've seen, the Henry and the Marlin have the same mounting holes but I'm not sure. I know the Marlin is wider but the rail seems pretty standard.

Beautiful rifle by the way!

I'm pretty sure the Henry 30/30 & 45/70 use the Weaver scope base # 63B, the same as the Marlins'.

We have a H010CC that I can compare to the 1895SBL in the picture. I think the receiver holes line up the same, but the XS sight uses a forward mount that uses the dovetail on the barrel. The location of the XS dovetail mount doesn't line up on the H010CC. Not sure about a H010...

Thanks for the replies, I'm going to swing by a gun store in town tomorrow to compare but I'm pretty sure the 4 screws on the top are the same (weaver 63B). I'm pretty sure the H010 and H010CC are the same so the XS Sights may be out.

According to HenryPride parts website the H010 series is tooled to use the Weaver 63 base. I bought a Weaver 63B for my .30-30.

"For .30/30 or .45-70, you can purchase a Weaver 63 base online, or from a well stocked gun shop. We also offer a couple of options in this same web store for convenience."

"Please note that this base will ONLY fit H009 Series (.30/30) and H010 Series (.45-70) rifles."

I believe they will based on the Skinner sights I just put on my H010. They came packaged as MOD. 95/336. I called Skinner to make sure they sent the right ones. I was told that the sight fit the Henry H010, H009, Win. 95 and Marlin 336. Apparently the holes line up the same on all of the above.

So I finally got an email back from XS Sights and they simply told me their rail will not fit. No other reason. I think it has to do with the rear sight and so so much the top mounting screw location, which is why the Skinner rail works and not the XS Sights.

How do you like the skinner? I was looking at their setup to run a scope on quick release mounts so I could still have the irons as mounted backup sights. They look like grear quality.
