Henry H010CC

Post by Ozarkridgerunner » Fri Jul 06, 2018 1:47 pm

Just wondering how many folks own a Henry H010CC. I ordered one last week. This will be my first Henry and my first .45-70. I am really excited about this rifle and caliber and I can hardly wait until it comes in to my dealer. Glad to have joined this forum. Most lever gun commentaries especially on the topic of 45-70 caliber, seemed to be focused on the Marlin. Appreciate comments on the Henry. Thank you

We've got one and we absolutely love it - hands down our favorite big bore rifle. It's a big, heavy, beautiful rifle that soaks up that 45-70 recoil and makes it just plain fun to blast steel plate targets, water bottles, and watermelons on the homemade range.

That's a beautiful specimen, thanks for sharing! Skinner/Lyman Globe, safe to assume? Or is that a different front sight?

Sights are a Skinner "Reliable" on the rear and a Lyman 20 Globe on the front.

Appreciate the information and pictures. It is a beauty. I have just joined the forum but have picked up pretty quickly that many folks customize the iron sights. The Skinner and Lyman names are frequently mentioned. I will be glad to hear more about as I plan on using iron sights on my H010CC that I have just ordered

Another beauty and nice shootin'! What scope set-up did you choose? Hunted with it yet?

kind words appreciated .... 3X9 Nikon .... unfortunately haven't been able to get out into the woods for a good while .... heart issues (that thankfully appear to be taken care of) and knee replacement surgery have really throttled back my hunting type activities
