The Original Henry 44-40 sight
The Original Henry 44-40 sight
Does anyone know if this sight can be bought and if it would fit my 45 big boy classic. You can't put a tang sight on here due to having to drill through the serial number. Crazy place to put the serial number.

I hope they are finished better than shown in the pictures. Those look pretty rough!

Agreed. However the one on my Cimarron rifle is pretty darn nice so hopefully the same as a separate item. It's quite well made.

Re: The Original Henry 44-40 sight
Anytime you start getting into aftermarket sights it can get expensive. One of the reasons I am a 'fan' of the Williams' receiver sights - pretty good quality and performance for the price. Can't help but to recommend them if it's a style you are looking for. I am planning on a new Marble's tang sight for my 1899 Winchester 94 (only because it's not drilled & tapped for a Williams) and it's going to be $126 and change.

Re: The Original Henry 44-40 sight
With the ladder site I would want to know what the slider has to keep it in place when the rifle recoils. The one I have on my rolling block has a little screw in knob on the side of the slide to lock the elevation.

Interesting, I'll have to look closely at mine. It seems to just slide, but it's a tight fit. Once I set it there is no movement that I can see.
