Ranch Roper, I think the one on your rifle most likely has a little leaf spring inside the slide to give tension and hold its position.

It is pretty solid. When I lift up the ladder to use it, it pops into place and stays there. The slider also is very sturdy.

So will these fit on any Henry? My son has the H009c in 30-30. He really likes the ladder sight on my Sharps...just never considered putting one on the Henry.
