Rocky Mountain Fire Arms Henry's
I just picked up a beautiful Henry Big Boy 45 colt this weekend at an auction. It is ALL brass plated except for the walnut, and heavily engraved one both the brass and walnut. Apparently Rocky Mountain Fire Arms does extreme customization of Henry rifles. Mine was part of a Pennsylvania County series that dates to 2006.
I was just curious if any one else knows anything about these Rocky Mountain Fire Arms customized rifles.
Anyone else own one?
I'll try and post some pics

That is a beauty, the wood looks very nice even without the engraving. They must have been hand selected from the good wood pile.
I know nothing about this special production model. Have you contacted Henry Customer Service?

Re: Rocky Mountain Fire Arms Henry's
Yes. I exchanged emails with Henry and Rocky Mountain Fire Arms. Apparently Rocky Mountain Fire Arms buys deluxe Big Boy rifles from Henry, then engraves and plates them. They said they actually cut the rifles down a half inch, then engrave and plated it with 24 carat gold.
The auction house thought it was brass, sold it as such, but Rocky Mountain said it was plated with 24 carat gold. I thought maybe it was lacquered brass, but was surprised to see gold.
Now I wish I would have bought the others. They had 5 more in the auction each with custom picture for different counties in PA.

The ones posted in the pictures above look nice. Most of those on the website remind me of too much tattoo ink.

Those are some nice looking rifles. Unfortunately every other subject on the web site is "coming soon".
