H010 and H009 Magazine Tube Diameter Change?
H010 and H009 Magazine Tube Diameter Change?
Does anyone know if the diameter of the magazine tube changed for the H010 and H009 when Henry's fixed (2015) the magazine locking mechanism failure problem (caused by expansion of the magazine tube)? The reason I ask is when I went to Brass Stacker to order their harness sling for the H009, the magazine tube swivel clamp they list is too small for the H009 that I recently bought. The tube swivel clamp they list covers a magazine tube diameter range of 0.610"-0.670" (#265). My H009 measures with a micrometer 0.685". I asked Brass Stacker customer support about this and they said the H009 that they have measures 0.650". They were unaware of a design change to a larger magazine tube diameter with the newer H009/H010 rifles.

You can go to the Henry website and ask the president directly. I'll bet you get an answer.

End of the week now and no response yet from Anthony. My email was handed off to Henry Pride Customer Service. They wanted to send me some complementary items. In followup, they told me their role was to process comp orders. They thought Anthony would be addressing my question separately.

Haven' heard from Anthony yet. Kinda given up on that. I do hope he is well. I picked up from browsing the Henry Quality Control topic that he is "unavailable". Also his direct contact information is no longer posted at the Henryusa 'Contact Us' page. I did get an answer to my question eventually through their technical customer support. I'll share what I learned in the 'No-Drill Sling' topic. http://henryrifleforums.com/viewtopic.p ... ill#p57868. Short answer, yes the OD of the tube changed.

It's probably one of those things that Henry cannot control. From what I have gathered, you purchased an item from a vendor other than Henry? Being the case, it is close to impossible for Henry to control what other vendors do. To me, the responsibility is on the vendor who sell a product to ensure it functions as advertised. If not, the vendor should offer a refund.
I can understand your frustration. At least, you got some goodies out of the deal. It may not make you feel better though. To me, if it doesn't come through Henry, there is no guarantee it will work. Just my two cent.

Re: H010 and H009 Magazine Tube Diameter Change?
GFK, I partly disagree. Henry can control somewhat by communicating their changes. It would be nice, when Henrys makes design changes, that they published them in tech bulletins on their website so that accessory suppliers that sell complementary accessories knew of the changes. If a accessory supplier screws up from there, then yes that supplier can be held accountable. I will be making the tech bulletin suggestion to Henrys suggestion box. No offense to Henrys, but the limited number of accessories Henrys offer do not cover much. Why I had to shop elsewhere.
If interested, I finally finished posting my story under the No-Drill Sling topic (url above).
No goodies from Henrys. I don't send my physical mailing address out over email. I offered to share it with them through their 'Contact Us' web page but was told that was managed by a different dept. So I guess the depts can't share or forward information between each other. Typical company growth pains.
