Cabelas had 2 Long Ranger rifles when I was there today. Good lookers. $1300 Canadian. No I did not buy one. Not sure what caliber. Were in case.

I use the FTX a lot in my old marlin, it a genuine moa shooter with my reloads and very close to it with the factory leverevolution ammo.
Depending on the distance it is sighted you are looking at 12-14" drop at 300, People are constantly amazed when we pull it out at a range and shoot 4" groups with factory ammo at 300. Ringing 6" gongs a 400 is fairly simple and we have played with it on steel targets out to 800 with some success.

Well.....if you already own a 30-30 you already have a single shot - just load it one round at at a time directly in the chamber. If you reload and want to experiment with spire point bullets no problem. I did this a while back with about a half box of some 150 grain spire point bullets I used up by loading in 30-30 -A Single Shot in 30-30 would seem to be a given.
They Really flattened out the trajectory !

that's the reason I'd love to see a 30-30 Long Ranger ..Mistered wrote:Well.....if you already own a 30-30 you already have a single shot - just load it one round at at a time directly in the chamber.
