I use to have a Dillon 650 press. I was measuring rounds and looking at them so often that I did not enjoy reloading at all. I ended up selling that press and bought a RCSB Rock Crusher. Yes a lot slower but it is a lot easier to keep track of things one step at a time, one bullet at a time. Love my reloading now and not nervous and wondering the whole time I'm loading.

Glad all ok. Had one squib in 60 years. Locked up cylinder on Ruger LRX. Resident gunsmith at the range drove it back and freed the cylinder. All i use is a single stage press. I was not paying enough attention when I loaded that round. I bought a bullet puller because of that incident as weighing a round doesn't always indicate missing powder.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Thanks guys for not beating me up.
My dad passed last year and I traded one of his m1’s for this gun with the goal of hunting with it and with it completed one of his goals. He always wanted a Henry.
So it punched extra hard when it came apart.
Naah, folks here won’t beat you up but will offer great advice. That’s why I posted the picture of my squib, to assure you that we are all in the same boat here. Stuff happens!

Re: Really messed up and Henry is making it Right
When I was competing in PPC I was shooting about 10,000 rounds a year between practice and competition. I needed a press that would allow me to load in volume, but not something above my skill level. The 550 fit my needs. My mentor had the bigger dillon presses, three or four of them set up for various calibers, and could really crank the rounds out. I was happy with what I had. I loaded at MY speed where I felt safe.jstanfield103 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 3:26 amI use to have a Dillon 650 press.
