BBS SG 44mag help
I found BBS carbine 44mag side gate new for $899 is this a decent deal? I have 2 lever 357's but no 44 and always wanted one, the bad thing is I only have 1 box of ammo for it and who knows where I would find more for less than a small fortune. What do you all say, Yah or Nah? I really don't need another rifle as I have plenty for a lifetime and then some, but that's a story for another day...

Re: BBS SG 44mag help
You better grab it if you really want one as Im betting it wont last long at that price. They have been selling like hot cakes lately. Im sure you can find more ammo eventually if you dont reload. As far as the 899.00 goes it may not be the cheapest but I dont think its to far out of line like some of them have been.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Re: BBS SG 44mag help
If you want one get it now because they are hard to find and don't last long, Also the price may go up like most everything else. Ammo will come back.

Re: BBS SG 44mag help
I appreciate the quick replies and the encouragement. I figure what's one more rifle going to hurt and I knew it won't last long, so I bought it. It's on it's way to my FFL hopefully soon, very soon. Now the hunt begins for 44 ammo, I do reload but I have nothing for 44mag
I have a BBS carbine in 357 and I love it, so this will be it's big brother.

Re: BBS SG 44mag help
Do you have large pistol primers so if someone found some supplies you would be able to reload?

Re: BBS SG 44mag help
All I have is 900 small rifle primers and dies for 223 and 7.62 and powders for both. All I've ever reloaded is 223 and it turned out well. I have a nice LGS that specializes in lever action rifles and reloading powder and supplies, most likely they are cleaned out though.

Re: BBS SG 44mag help
Congrats on the 44, ammo and reload will come back. Personally I'd focus more on finding brass as straight wall lasts many loadings. And don't forget to grab any 44 special supplies you find as they also shoot in that lever..Bullet molds are another great asset
