Well I went and did it.

Walked into Cabelas today to see if they had any ammo. (Nothing I need but tons of 5.56) What did they have on the rack? An all weather 45-70 H010GAWP. Yes, I bought it! Fortunately I already have some ammo for it. As soon as I got home I ordered the scope mount for it. Going to put some leather on the loop, clean it and try it out later!

Very excited! I’ve been listing after one of these for a year! I “settled” for the .45 X last month. Now I found the ultimate!!! Both should last me, and my son, all our lives!!

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Congrats. they are fine lookin rifles, but my pair of 444's will do anything the 45's will,
with less powder, less lead and of course less Rainbow trajectory. :o
Hope it shoots as good as they look.👍

Congrats on the 45/70 and having ammo, LOL. Rare combo these days. Know you'll enjoy it.

I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.
